Tionna Harris Crawford, LCSW

Therapist by Nature

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, I've always believed that people deserve to feel seen, supported, and empowered. I take pride in being a compassionate, down-to-earth therapist who specializes in working with adolescents and women navigating life's transitions.

Long before I became an entrepreneur, my passion was helping people heal. That passion continues to shape everything I do today—it just reaches people in a different way.

Entrepreneur at Heart

Looking back, entrepreneurship has always been part of who I am.

In middle school, I crocheted handmade items and sold them to classmates. In high school and college, I built a successful hair-braiding side business. During graduate school, I launched a crafting business, never realizing those experiences were laying the foundation for something much bigger.

Years later, I founded Elevation Individual & Family Therapy with a vision of creating a practice that provided exceptional mental health care while creating meaningful opportunities for clinicians to thrive.

What started as a dream eventually grew into a seven-figure, multi-location private practice.

The Business School They Never Teach Therapists

Graduate school prepared me to become an excellent therapist.

It did not prepare me to become a CEO.

Like so many therapists, I quickly realized that knowing how to help clients and knowing how to run a business are two completely different skill sets.

No one taught me how to build systems, develop leaders, create financial dashboards, write standard operating procedures, measure key performance indicators, or scale a team without becoming the bottleneck.

I knew there had to be a better way.

That realization led me to invest heavily in learning the business side of private practice. Through programs like the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program and the RED Love Business Accelerator, I began examining every part of my organization—from our policies and operations to our financial health, leadership structure, and long-term strategy.

I wasn't simply trying to grow my practice.

I was rebuilding it from the inside out.

When Business Became Personal

While I was learning how to build a stronger business, life unexpectedly tested everything I had been studying.

When I learned that my 2nd daughter would be born with two rare medical conditions, I was suddenly faced with a reality that many business owners fear: I couldn't be everywhere, and I couldn't do everything myself.

For years, I had been working to strengthen my systems and leadership. Now I had no choice but to trust them.

What had once felt like "good business practices" became essential.

My team stepped up.

Our systems carried us through.

My business continued serving clients during one of the hardest seasons of my life.

Then, after losing my daughter, my perspective changed forever.

Her life reminded me that time is our most valuable resource, and none of us are promised tomorrow.

I realized I didn't want to spend my life measuring success by how many hours I worked or how much of myself I sacrificed for my business.

I wanted to build a company that supported my life—not one that consumed it.

That realization became the heartbeat of everything I teach today.

Why I Created Calm & Capable CEO

Calm & Capable CEO exists because I know what it's like to love your business while feeling overwhelmed by it.

I know what it's like to wear every hat, answer every question, solve every problem, and wonder if success is supposed to feel this exhausting.

It doesn't have to.

Today, I help entrepreneurs—especially therapists and service-based business owners—build businesses that are both profitable and sustainable. Through systems, dashboards, operational tools, leadership development, and practical CEO strategies, my goal is to help you create a business that can grow without requiring you to carry everything alone.

Because I believe the greatest measure of success isn't building a business that needs you every minute of every day.

It's building one that gives you the freedom to be fully present for the people and moments that matter most.
